"The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten" - Benjamin Franklin
Competing in a global market has its challenges, but one thing remains, "Made in the USA" is a powerful thing.
In a previous blog post, Benefits of Working with a USA Based Manufacturer, we listed how companies benefit from working with domestic suppliers. This topic becomes even more important since global events such as tariffs and the tragic outbreak of the Coronavirus have dramatically impacted electronic manufacturing supply chains.
With an unforeseen end to the production and shipping delays in China, companies cannot afford to have a long-term shut down of their manufacturing operations. This has led some to diversify their supply chain away from any one country and even qualify a USA based supplier to mitigate the stress of an interrupted global supply chain.
We asked a few of our customers why they choose to work with USA based suppliers & manufacturers. These were their responses:
At the start of 2019, Xymox launched an internal campaign to "Think Big". How do we make our vision bigger? How can we do things bigger and better than ever before? Well, we're thrilled to say...2019 was a big year for Xymox!
To get right down to it, there can be serious consequences to your business when working with a supplier that isn't financially stable. You spend time and money vetting, auditing, and negotiating; everything seems to check out only to find out that the supplier can't fulfill your order. Of course they are not up front about any financial issues because maybe they think, this customer could be the ticket out of the weeds.
Xymox had the honor of giving a tour of our facility to 25 Milwaukee Public School 7th grade students for the 2nd year in a row!
"The mission of the [Be the Spark] program is to spark a student’s interest in a potential job or career so they can begin developing the skills and education pathways essential to their future success. These tours allow students to see that future beginning at one of Milwaukee’s exceptional local business." - Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC)

“Is this thing on?” “What function is working?” “I pushed the button, did anything happen?” These are questions that companies never want their end users to be asking while using their interface. Intuitive and user friendly are two things product designers strive for. User experience is everything to the customer – it can be the difference between a good product and a great one! Designers can turn to backlighting as a simple solution to creating a great user experience.
Membrane switches are known to be rugged and reliable - the technology has been around for a few decades, it is tried and true. Touch sensors are the "now" in technology, how many times have you approached a “screen” and touched it expecting it to do something? Today, people are surrounded by touch sensors all day, every day. What if an application wants the best of both worlds, or as some might say, "have your cake and eat it too"?...combine them into one interface solution - a hybrid interface!
At Xymox, we have 4 core values, integrity, service, results, & employees. The first 3 are business standards that we hold ourselves to, but the fourth, employees, they are what drive our business and help us achieve those standards. Our employees are our lifeblood! We figure, you only turn 40 once, so naturally we threw an epic, week-long, celebration for our employees to show our appreciation for all their hard work (and too much fun was had)!
